AMHERST:

• Free Breakfast: Starting January 6, 2026, all K-12 Amherst students will be eligible for a free breakfast. Each meal includes the main entrée of the day, 2 frit choices, and milk. Please remind your students to know their 6-digit student number to receive breakfast.

 

AVON:

• 2026 Commencement Ceremony: Avon High School’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony is taking place on Tuesday, May 26^th, 2026.
• Class of 2026 Stay Connected: Order your purple cap & gown now! You can find the link on our website. Graduation is NOW Tuesday, May 26^th at 7pm. Mark your calendars for the following dates: Senior DC Trip is March 18^th-21^st, Prom is Saturday, May 9^th, Senior awards are May 18^th, Senior Exams are May 18^th-20^th, Graduation Practice is May 22^nd and Graduation is May 26^th.
• ACT Testing: There will be no school for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors on Wednesday, Feb. 25^th as the Juniors will be taking the ACT. There is no registration required for this test. Juniors: Please report to school at the regular time, 7:30am. You will take a seat in the AHS Commons and wait to be dismissed to your testing room. An email will be sent to your Avon Eagles account providing you with your room assignment. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Castrilla.

 

AVON LAKE

• Drama Club News: Avon Lake High School Drama Club Calendar Fundraiser. Avon Lake Drama Boosters is the supporting organization for the ALHS Drama Program. We use funds to supplement theater improvements, feed our cast and crew, and many other ways that help make our productions extra special! For this fundraiser, the students are seeking people to “sponsor.
• Class of 2026 Yard Signs: Avon Lake PTA will be selling Senior Signs again this year. Please see the link on our website to purchase your sign. Each sign will be $15 and will be available for pick-up around mid-April. Each sign is 18” x 24”, double-sided, and comes with a metal stake. • ALHS Cheerleading Tryouts: ALHS Cheerleading Tryouts for the 26-27 school year are coming up! A mandatory tryout meeting will be held on 3/11 at 7pm in Room 160/161 at ALHS. Join our Google Classroom with the following code for tryout information 5yifjjbv. Any questions can be directed to Coach DeVere or Coach Rudkin.
• Help Stock the ALHS Care Closet: The ALHS Care Closet is a community effort to care for our own. With your help, we provide students and families with essentials like coats, hygiene items, school supplies, AL gear, and snacks. We are currently running low on the below items. Individually wrapped snacks like granola bars, crackers, fruit snacks, or protein bars. New or gently used AL gear. Drop off donations at the Main Office to the attention of Kristin Action our Social Worker.   

 

CLEARVIEW:

 

• Thought for the Month: “Educating children is teaching them how to get along without us.”
• Senior Day at LCCC: Seniors – If you are planning to attend LCCC after graduation, please sign up for the field trip, to visit LCCC on Friday, April 17^th. See the email from Mrs. Kazel for more information.
• Prom Guest: If you are bring a guest to prom who does NOT attend Clearview High School, you will need to have a guest form completed. Guest forms are available in the Main Office and are due back by Wednesday, May 6^th.  
• PROM: We are excited to announce Prom 2026, which will be held at the beautiful Valley of the Eagles on Friday, May 8^th 2026, from 6pm-10pm. This year, there will be no After Prom. Instead, we’ll be hosting raffles throughout the evening, giving you the chance to win gift cards and fun prizes. Winners must be present to claim their prizes. The theme for this year’s prom is Old Hollywood, so get ready to walk the red carpet, brin the glam, and celebrate in classic movie-star style. Think elegance, sparkle, and timeless Hollywood flair. Tickets are $50 for a single and $100 for a couple. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 2^nd and will be sold through Friday, May 1^st. We can’t wait to see you all dressed to impress for a night of music, memories, and movie-star magic!

 

COLUMBIA:

 

• 2026 Yearbook Sales: The CHS yearbook staff is working hard to capture the essence of what it means to be a student this year, and we’re proud of the way the yearbook is coming together. To purchase, buy online by clicking on the link here: Note: We do not order many extra yearbooks to guarantee a yearbook, preorder your student a copy today!
• Track & Field Practice: Track & Field practice is daily at 3pm in the High School Cafeteria. Any student with questions should see Mr. Potter.
• Attention Class of 2026 & 2027: We are looking for students and staff to model in the Prom Fashion Show. No experience needed. Check the flyer and Google Form to sign up.
• CLSD District Arts Night: District Arts Night is March 10^th from 6-8pm at CHS. Artwork, Demonstrations, Steam Projects ad young authors on display. Mark your calendar for the District Arts Night and celebrate your talents and those of your friends! 

• Seniors: Schedule an appointment to meet with Miss Neff/Ms. MacDonald. Transcripts are sent through Schoolinks. Log in through Clever. The FAFSA is now open. Need help? See Miss Neff or Ms. Vega Hamilton.
• Juniors: PSAT results are in. If you didn’t receive a link from College Board, please see Miss Neff. The ST is Thursday, March 5^th at CHS.
• Columbia Community Foundation Scholarship: The Scholarship Application is now open. The CCF provides multiple scholarships totaling thousands of dollars each year. To be eligible, students must be seniors who either live in Columbia Township or attend Columbia High School (or LCJVS as a Columbia student). The application closes on March 9, 2026. Apply TODAY!
• Spring Musical: Please join us for our Spring Musical Chicago: Tean Edition on March 26^th-28^th!  Some content may not be appropriate for all ages. Tickets can be found on Columbia’s Hometown Ticketing Website. Don’t miss our biggest production yet.
• Certified Lifeguards Needed: Strongsville Rec is in need of certified lifeguards. Their starting pay rate is $14/hr with opportunities to earn up to $16/hr. Check out their website to apply under the human resource tab.

 

ELYRIA

• Voter Registration: Students! If you will be 18 years old by THIS November 3^rd (2026), you can vote for candidates (not issues) in the May primary. Come see Mrs. Runion in room 126 to register on paper (and get help if needed), OR you can register online. If you want to vote in the May primary, you must register by April 6^th.
• Elyria Safety Town Student Volunteers Needed: The Elyria Parks & Recreation Department is looking for student volunteers to work with children registered for Safety Town. Safety Town has become an annual summer educational program for children who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall of 2026. Eligible student volunteers must have completed the 5^th grade or higher at the end of the 2026 school year. Applications are due by Friday, April 24^th. Pick up an application at Elyria City Hall or the Main Office or visit our website.
• No Chess Club this week:. We will get back to play on Thursday, March 5^th.
• Boys Tennis: Anyone interested in playing boys tennis this spring, please see coach Brinda in room 108 for more details either before or after school this week.
• Marvel Madness Round One: It is that time of year again where Marvel Club wants you to join in on the fun! Marvel Madness starts this week with an all new twist! Heroes only! Make sure to find the QR code posted around the school to vote for the first round of your favorite Marvel Heroes! Bracket is posted at the top of the Main Office Stair Case. Have fun, and may the best hero win!
• Career Conversation: The next Career Conversation is featuring an early childhood educator on March 6^th. If you have an interested in working with children and teaching, please register on your grade level Google Classroom. See Mrs. Anderle with questions.
• Flag Football Practice: Flag Football Practices are Monday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7pm. Monday is held at EHS in the Main Gym and Thursday will be outside at Ely Stadium. If you plan on playing, you need to be at practices this week. Any questions, see Coach Wilson, Coach Gallo or Coach Conwell.
• Team Tuesdays: Team Tuesday will meet at EHS at 5:30 in the Dining Hall. We will have our meetings and competition at the school. We will then eat and attend the Boys Sectional Tournament Game together as a Team. Wear Elyria Colors and/or Gear.

 

FIRELANDS:

• Falcon Pride Raffle: We will have this week’s Falcon PRIDE Raffle Friday! Don’t forget to enter the raffle by going to the PBIS Rewards app using Clever and use your points to enter. You will have until 12:30 on Friday to enter to win! There will be one winner drawn from each grade level! If you have any questions, please email Mr. Taylor.
• Bingo for Prom: The wonderful volunteers from our PTG have organized a BINGO Night to help raise funds for this year’s After Prom. This event is open to all and will take place on March 14^th at the Amherst Eagles Club. There will be a 50/50, designer bags, and many gift baskets up for grabs. Reserve your seat now! • Taking Requests: Want to have a say in what music gets played at Prom? Here is your chance to tell them what you want to hear! Go to Goole Classroom and fill out the form. Please submit ONE form for EACH song that you want to hear at Prom! And don’t forget… If it Plays, You’re to Blame.
•  Junior Class Meeting: Attention all Juniors! There is a MANDATORY class meeting on March 4^th during FIRE A from 9:04 to 9:45 in the auxiliary gym. All juniors must attend, even if you do not have a FIRE A.
• Attention Seniors: Commencement is scheduled for Sunday, May 31^st at 7pm. This is your last reminder, get that cap & gown ordered ASAP. If you have not received Mrs. Keener’s letter about graduation, be sure to grab one from the main office. If you need assistance, please reach out to Mrs. Rector in Student Services.

 

 

KEYSTONE

• Attention Lady Wildcats: Do you have old Prom, Homecoming, or Dance dresses you are looking to get rid of? Donate them to the upcoming Dress Drive! We are looking for dress donations to our closet that will be available for all to shop Wednesday, March 11^th from 5-7pm. Each dress in the closet will be $5 to support the ROX Leadership Team’s upcoming County-Wide ROX Event. All donations can be dropped off with Miss Atkinson and we look forward to seeing you at the closet!
• Attention Seniors: Hey Seniors, your class officers are taking suggestions for the Class of 2026 Song! All school appropriate, clean suggestions can be submitted via the google from in your email from now through this upcoming Tuesday, March 3^rd.
• Yearbooks: 2025-2026 yearbooks are now on sale! The only way to guarantee your copy of this year’s book is to purchase in advance. Visit Josten’s website to order today. See Mr. Hogue with any questions.
• Attention Students: Sign up TODAY for the Senior vs. Faculty volleyball game that will take place on March 19^th at 6pm. Please fill out the Google Form in your email, and contact Mrs. Puterbaugh if you have any questions. The deadline to sign up is March 4^th at 2:30pm.
• Attention Seniors: Time is running out to submit your senior survey. Check your email for the Google Form to submit your senior quote and additional information that will be published alongside your portrait. All submissions must be completed by March 20^th to be published.
• KES Cooking Club: Cooking Club starts on Monday, 3/2 from 3:30-4:30 in the KES Cafeteria. KHS students are needed to help. You would be needed from 3:15- about 4:45pm. You will earn community service hours. See Ms. Heff with questions and to sign up.
• Spring College Field Trip: Interested on going on our Spring College Field Trip? Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman will be heading to Akron University and Mount Union University on Tuesday, April 14^th. Permission slips are available in the front office and spots are first come, first serve.
• Air & Space Club: Just a reminder, Air & Space Club will be meeting on Wednesday, March 4^th at 2:30pm in Mr. Broad’s Room. All are welcome, see you there!
• Congratulations Wrestlers: Congratulations to the wrestlers who completed at the sectional tournament this past weekend. Kyriana Grahn took first place yesterday and will advance to districts this weekend along with Sage O’Brien, Brooke Wade, Emma Wilson, Mikaela Schofield and Justin Rounds.

 

NORTH RIDGEVILLE

• Adaptive Fitness Yoga: Winter registration is open for adaptive aerobic classes on Thursday evening and yoga classes on Saturday mornings. Classes are held at Westlake High School To learn more click here or email Angela at adaptedfyp@gmail.com
• Grief Support: Grief Speaks is a website and resource bank created by grief expert Lisa Athan, MA. Lisa works as a grief therapist, as well as an advocate and educator around the country. Her website features information on topics such as children/adults on grief and about 50 other grief related topics. To access her website and learn more, go to our website.
• Wellness: Sometimes we feel the holiday hangover. Our days are filled with loss, stress, depression and maybe a little anger too. The Cuyahoga Alcohol, Drug Addiction, Mental Health Services Board has put together a book with practical strategies if you find yourself starting to feel down. Topics include grief, loss, change, stress, recovery, sadness, and financial strain for both adults and teens. Check it out!
• Youth with Complex Needs: The Ohio Department of Health’s Complex Medical Help Program (CMH) connects individuals with special health care needs to a network of medical providers and helps them obtain payment for needed services.
• Fitness Classes: Try a new fitness class through United We Sweat. FREE for all ages. Whether you enjoy Zumba, kickboxing or yoga, there’s something for everyone! Virtual and in-person classes available.
• Therapeutic Art: Elyria Public Library has several therapeutic art groups for both teens and adults, run by a certified art therapist that are free to attend. They also offer several other crafting events too. Events may be held at their Central Branch or other locations throughout the county.
• Tutoring: Families with children on an IEP (Individualized Education Program) can apply now for free tutoring during the spring semester through Learning Aid Ohio. Learning Aid provides grant funding so that families can access one-to-one, in-person educational support for students. Learning Aid grants are open to students who are Ohio residents, on an IEP, and live in families whose household income is less than 400% of the federal poverty level.

 

Wellington

 

• Attention Students: Students, please check your school email to see if you have received an overdue library book notice. Books can be returned or renewed at any time throughout the school day.
• Seniors - Endowment Scholarships are available NOW. Endowment Scholarships became available on January 1st. Endowment Scholarships are due by Friday, February 27, 2026. The Local Scholarships become available on Monday, January 12th, 2026. Local Scholarship applications are due by Monday, March 9, 2026. See Mrs. Wyman if you have any questions.
