AVON:
• Run for Homecoming Court 2025: Homecoming season is upon us, and it is time to start considering running for Homecoming Court. Check your Graduating Class Google Classroom for information about Homecoming Court and to access the Google Form application. Deadline to Apply is Monday, September 22nd at 3pm.
• Homecoming Dance Tickets on Sale Now! Buy your Homecoming tickets! The Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, October 4th from 7pm-10pm and tickets are on sale now. The theme is Cosmic Glow. Tickets will be sold until Friday, October 3rd at 3pm. If you would like to bring a guest, forms are available in the main office and students services. • Unicef Meeting: The Unicef club will be having their first meeting Monday, September 22nd from 2:50pm-4pm in Media Center. Come find out what this club is all about and how you can get involved. Please RSVP using the form on Google Classroom. The code for the Classroom in k37k6byf.
• Global Artisans Club Meeting: Interested in learning about global cultures through crafting? Join Global Artisans Club! Join our Google Classroom (code: fnzj2ke) to RSVP to our introductory meeting today. The meeting will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23rd in room 172 at 2:45pm.
• Boys Volleyball: Anyone interested in playing boys volleyball this spring should join the Google Classroom with the following code: ope5eh2. If you have questions, see Mr. Lee in Room 170.
• AP Scholars: Are you interested in Comparative Government, Environmental Science, or Human Geography? Have you wondered if there is a way for you to earn credit for these classes? Now, there is! With AP Scholars, you can independently study for these courses in preparation for the AP test in May, with help from other students enrolled in these courses. Utilize a collection of study resources, from notes to videos, to practice tests. In addition, in-person review sessions will be held for each until to make sure you fully comprehend the content. If you are interested, please attend the informational meeting on Wednesday, September 24th after school in room 245. • Band Practice on Wednesday: If you park in the south lot on the ban practice field, please make sure you move your car by 3pm. This area of the parking lot needs to be cleared for band to practice.
CLEARVIEW:
• NHS Meeting: NHS will be meeting Tuesday, September 23rd at 2:40pm in room 109. All current members should plan on attending.
• College Visits: Akron University will be here on Wednesday, September 24th during 2nd period in the Media Center. If you would like information on this college, please stop in and see the Representative. Malone University will be here on Thursday, September 25th during 2nd period in the Media Center. If you would like information on this college, please stop in and see the Representative.
• Girls Basketball Open Gyms: For all Girls interested in playing basketball, there will be open gym in the Clearview High School Gym every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4 pm. See Coach Dimacchia with any questions.
• Homecoming Dance: The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 4th. From 7pm – 10pm in the Clearview High School Gym. Tickets will be $10 each (cash only) and ONLY SOLD AT THE DOOR! If you’d like to bring a guest who DOES NOT attend Clearview, please stop in the Main Office and pick up a guest form. Guests must be at least in the 9th grade and cannot be older than 18 years old. Guest forms are due back no later than Wednesday, October 1st.
• President’s Club: There will be a President’s Club meeting for all members on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 8:15 am. Students will be called down.
• Student Council: The next student council meeting will be Wednesday, September 24th in room 114 with Mr. Walter and Mr. Gulish.• Soccer: Firelands travelled to Clearview on Saturday afternoon as the top team in the conference. After being down 2-0 at halftime, the Clippers didn’t give up. Less than 2 minutes into the second half, Nathan Christensen scored off a pass from Gabe Barker to cut the lead to 2-1. However, the high scoring offense from Firelands eventually got going and pulled away for a 6-1 victory. This was a good test for Clearview as they will face them again next Monday, September 29th. Clearview is in action again tonight as Garrett Morgan brings their 6-2 record to Tom Hoch Field at 5pm. With only 2 home games left, including tonight, come on out and show the soccer team your support.
COLUMBIA:
• Student Academic Fees: Student Academic fees were due Monday, September 15th. Unpaid fees will result in denial of students to participate n extracurricular activities; including the homecoming dance on Oct. 4th. Contact school office for inquiries on payment plans. Chromebook insurance is no longer available.
• SADD Meeting: Monday, September 22nd at 2:55 in Mlle Toppel room 8. Open to all students interested in joining this year.
• Homecoming 2025: Homecoming Crowning will be Friday Oct. 3rd at 6:30pm, Football game vs. Oberlin is Friday, October 3rd at 7pm. The dance will be Oct. 4th from 7pm-9pm in the CHS gymnasium, a dance form must be completed prior to purchasing tickets – printed forms are available in the main office.
• Winter Color Guard: The sign up for Winter Color Guard is in the HS Band and Choir room. No experience is necessary! Everyone is teachable! Opportunity for flag, rifle, and dance and all 7th -12th grade students are welcome. Deadline to sign up is October 28th. ELYRIA
• Yearbook Order Special: Until Sept. 29th, 25-26 EHS yearbooks are their lowest price – a $20 saving plus Jostens’s is offering free icons. Instructions on how to order online were passed out in English classes, posted on Class of Google Classrooms and emailed home to parents/guardians. Payment plans are available. Order before September 29th to take advantage of these savings.
• Homecoming Tickets: Homecoming is October 4th from 6-9 in the EHS Dining Hall. Homecoming tickets will be on sale from September 15th-October 1st. Ticket prices are one for $15 or two for $25. You can purchase them with cash during your lunch periods or before/after school in room 201. If you are paying with a card, you can scan the QR code in the cafeteria, access the tickets through the athletics website, or find the link on your class of Google Classrooms. Out of district guests must have a guest form approved before their ticket can be purchased. Guest forms can be found in your team office. Out of districts guests will not be permitted to go in without a valid ID. Tickets will not be sold after Oct. 1st.
• Boys Basketball Open Gym: For any Boys interested in playing Basketball this year. A calendar for September and October open gyms and conditioning can be picked up outside Coach Larrick’s room. – Room 219.
• PSAT Test: On October 21, 2025, Elyria High School will administer the PSAT test to any 10th and 11th graders that are interested. Clas of 2027 students will be entered into the National Merit Scholarship Program and have an opportunity to ear a scholarship. Sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis. Any student interested in taking the test must sign up with the Team 2 Counselor, Ms. Jones in the team 2/4 office, by September 30th 2025.
• NHS Eligible Candidates Packet Due Date: If you received a letter informing you of your NHS eligibility but you did not attend the meeting, TODAY is the last day to complete your packet to be considered for induction. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Dargo in room 138.
• Cap and Gown Ordering: Attention Seniors. Jostens will be in the dining hall during lunch periods on Sept. 24th to receive orders. If you need help completing the order form or have questions, please see Mrs. Anderle.
• EHS Runway Club: The EHS Runway Club will be meeting on September 22, 2025, after school in Room 119. This club is all about exploring the world of fashion through creativity, conversation, and sustainability. Members will learn how to upcycle clothing, discuss current fashion trends, and express their personal style in a supportive, style-forward environment. Whether you’re a fashion fanatic, or just curious, everyone is welcome to join.
FIRELANDS:
• Firelands Choral Color Run: The 3rd Annual Firelands Choral Color Run will be held, September 28th at 3pm at FES. It is $30 to participate, which includes a commemorative t-shirt. Registration has begun online @ FirelandsChoralColorTun.Com. Sign up now to show your support for our FHS Choir.
• Spirit Night: We will be having another spirit night, tonight for boys’ soccer as they take on Midview at 7 o’clock at home. Hope to see you there!
• HOCO Guest Forms: Just a reminder that out of town guest forms for homecoming are due to Mr. Taylor no later than September 29th. Late forms will NOT be accepted. You can find the forms on Google Classroom as well as the form tree outside the main office. Please reach out to Mr. Taylor with any questions.
• College Rep Visits: Tomorrow is a big day for college rep visits! Juniors and Seniors will be able to schedule visits with Reps from 3 different colleges in the 1st floor XLA room. If you are interested, please sign up on Schoollinks or email Mrs. Rector at

• HOCO Pep Rally: The Falcons’ Homecoming Pep Rally will be on October 3rd. Are you interested in participating? The signup to volunteer in this year’s pep rally games for your class are in each classes Google classroom. Sign up today to secure your spot.
KEYSTONE
• Freshman Girls: If you are interested in being a part of the Class of 2029 Chapter of Girltalk please submit your application by Wednesday, October 1st. Those chosen will be notified via email of their acceptance shortly after. We look forward to another great year of girls supporting girls!
• ROX: The Rox Leadership Team is selling Spirit Packs for our upcoming “Pink Out” game in October for $20. All those interested in ordering should fill out the google form and turn in the $20 to Miss Atkinson by September 26th.

• Sophmores: Interested in applying to be KHS’s representatives for the summer Hugh O’Brien Youth Conference? There will be an information session during Connections on Wednesday, Oct. 1st in the cafeteria. If you are interested in learning more, reach out to your counselor or fill out the Connections Workshop Google form.
• Seniors: the MANDATORY Senior Class Panoramic Photo will take place Friday, October 3rd. All seniors will report at 7:30 for the photo and wear either their class shirts or a purple Keystone shirt. Keep an eye out for the Senior Pano Photo order forms.
• Homecoming: The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 27th from 7pm – 10pm. Tickets will be on sale in the study hall room (124) and during lunches for $15. KHS students are permitted to purchase tickets at the door for $20. If you are bringing a guest from another school, you need to get a form from the main office. The guest form needs to be completed prior to purchasing a guest ticket. The last day for pre-sale tickets and to purchase a guest ticket is Thursday, September 25th.
• FCCLA: There is a FCCLA meeting tomorrow after school in Ms. Heff’s room.
• Dance Team: There is a dance team information meeting after school on Thursday in Ms. Heff’s room.
• Environmental Club Meeting: Do you care about our planet? Want to make a difference at school and in the community? Then come join the first environmental club meeting of the year on Wednesday, the 24th right after school in Ms. Szczepanik’s room, room 228. Bring your friends and your ideas and see you Wednesday.
• Pie the Principals: Hey KHS Students! Have you ever wanted the opportunity for a little bit of fun revenge on our principals? For just $1 a piece, you can buy a ticket to Pie the Principals at the Pep Rally! That’s right, 6 lucky ticket holders will get to smash delicious pie right in Mr. Shaw & Mrs. Allison’s face. (Don’t worry, its all in good fun – and whipped cream!) You can purchase tickets beginning Monday, September 22nd in the Study hall room & during your lunch period. Get your tickets now and help us raise money for Prom! Remember: $1 per ticket = 1 chance to pie our principals! Hurry before the pie flies!

Look for the purple QR codes posted around the building to submit your pictures from dress-up days, Powder Puff, the bonfire, the pep rally, and the homecoming dance! The more, the better!
