AVON:
• Fall Play: Are you a Soc or a Greaser? The fall play for 2025 is The Outsiders, based on the book by S.E. Hinton that most of you read in 8th grade. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 16th, and Wednesday, September 17th from 3pm-4:30pm in the auditorium. Copies of audition scenes will be available in the main office or room 222; pick up a copy, read it, and bring it to one of the two audition times. Contact Mr. Postle if you have any questions. See you after school on the 16th or 17th and break a leg.
• Basball: There will be a baseball meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the baseball team next spring on Thursday, September 18th in room 132 at 2:45pm. The meeting will go over off-season workouts. The meeting will last 10 minutes. If you miss the meeting, please contact Coach Scholla.
• Band Practice on Wednesday: If you park in the south lot on the ban practice field, please make sure you move your car by 3pm. This area of the parking lot needs to be cleared for band to practice.
• Be Kind To Our Neighbors: For students who use Hunter’s Trail to arrive and depart from school, please make sure you observe the speed limit. Do not block driveways and be aware that there is noise ordinance.
CLEARVIEW:
• ASVAB: If you are interested in taking the ASVAB exam, please sign up in the counseling office. If you have any questions, let your school counselor know. Please note, this is only for 10th-12th graders.
• College Visits: Akron University will be here on Wednesday, September 24th during 2nd period in the Media Center. If you would like information on this college, please stop in and see the Representative. Malone University will be here on Thursday, September 25th during 2nd period in the Media Center. If you would like information on this college, please stop in and see the Representative.
• Youth 4 Youth: If you are interested in being a part of the Youth for Youth club, please plan on attending our first meeting Wednesday, September 17th at 2:45 in room 208 with Mrs. Kazel. Everyone is welcome! See your email for more details.
• Track and Field: For student athletes interested in participating in Track & Field for the upcoming Spring season, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday September 17th at 7:35 am in the auditorium.
• Girls Basketball Open Gyms: For all Girls interested in playing basketball, there will be open gym in the Clearview High School Gym every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4 pm. See Coach Dimacchia with any questions.
• Sophomore Class Voting: Attention Sophmores! Voting for your class advisors ends TODAY! Go to the Class of 2028 Google Classroom to access your ballot. Good luck candidates!!
• Spring Break in Costa Rica: Anyone who may still be interested in spending spring break in Costa Rica, please plan on attending a meeting on Tuesday, September 16th at 6pm. In room 109. See Mrs. Hutsenpiller if you have any questions.
• ACT Retesting: Attention Seniors. Anyone interested in taking the ACT this school year, be aware of the following testing dates and registrations deadlines. Register using the ACT website – www.act.org. October test session is Oct. 18th, registration is Sept. 12th. December test session is Dec 13th. Registration is Nov. 7th. Please stop by the school counseling office if you would like an ACT fee waiver. They have been ordered and will be coming soon. See Mrs. Keppler or Mrs. Kazel with any questions. Thank you!
• Homecoming Dance: The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 4th. From 7pm – 10pm in the Clearview High School Gym. Tickets will be $10 each (cash only) and ONLY SOLD AT THE DOOR! If you’d like to bring a guest who DOES NOT attend Clearview, please stop in the Main Office and pick up a guest form. Guest must be at least in the 9th grade and cannot be older than 18 years old. Guest forms are due back no later than Wednesday, October 1st.
• SOCCER: Clearview Soccer: Columbia came to Clearview Saturday morning on a 7-game win streak with the top scorer in the LC8. After the first half ended in a scoreless tie. Nathan Christensen opened the scoring in the second half off an assist from Mikey Miller. Clearview did hold the top scorer to 1 goal on a penalty kick but could not hold on for a 2-1 loss. Our next game is TONIGHT (Monday) as we host Rhodes High School @ 6pm at Tom Hoch Field. Come out and cheer us on!!
COLUMBIA:
• Picture Day: Wednesday, September 17th is picture day. Online ordering is through cavanaughphoto.com/order. Presale link is open 3 weeks before picture day and 48 hours after. You can pay with cash or check order form.
• Power line repair update: Work on the power lines near the cafeteria lot will continue today (Thursday) morning. As a result, the cafeteria lot will not be accessible. All student parking will be redirected to the Stadium parking lot. Please plan accordingly to allow a few extra minutes when arriving to school. Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility as this work is completed.
• Academic Fees: Unpaid fees are due Monday, September 15th. Unpaid fees will result in denial of students to participate in extracurricular activities.
• Student Council Offices: Students, please fill out the emailed form that was sent on 9/4/25 from Mile Toppel. Candidate submissions are due by Sept. 17th. Elections will be on September 24th.
• Homecoming 2025: Homecoming Crowning will be Friday Oct. 3rd at 6:30pm, Football game vs. Oberlin is Friday, October 3rd at 7pm. The dance will be Oct. 4th from 7pm-9pm in the CHS gymnasium, a dance form must be completed prior to purchasing tickets – printed forms are available in the main office.
• Winter Color Guard: The sign up for Winter Color Guard is in the HS Band and Choir room. No experience is necessary! Everyone is teachable! Opportunity for flag, rifle, and dance and all 7th -12th grade students are welcome. Deadline to sign up is October 28th. Note… Scheduling can be flexible if your involved in another in or out of school activity.
ELYRIA
• Climate, Culture & Beliefs Committee: Did you know we have a committee focused on meeting the needs of students, providing a voice to everyone, and creating a safe and inclusive school climate that fosters a sense of belonging? If you are interested in speaking up for students, see Ms. Pokorny in Room 206 before September 19th.
• Anime Club: Anime Club meets every Wednesday after school from 2:45-4pm in room 101. Permission slips need to be turned in before you can attend. Please see Miss Garcia or Ms. Wolbert with any questions. We hope to see you there!
• Homecoming Court Applications: If you are interested in running for homecoming court, you must complete the Homecoming Court Application form by Wednesday, September 17th. They can be found in your team office.
• School Picture Day: Dress Your Best for Spirit Week and School Picture Day! Picture Day is Thursday, September 18th. All students in grades 9-12 will have their picture taken. You will go with your English class to have your picture taken. Seniors without an English class this semester will receive a pass.
• Yearbook Order Special: Until Sept. 29th, 25-26 EHS yearbooks are their lowest price – a $20 saving plus Jostens’s is offering free icons. Instructions on how to order online were passed out in English classes, posted on Class of Google Classrooms and emailed home to parents/guardians. Payment plans are available. Order before September 29th to take advantage of these savings.
• College Affordability Night: Attention Seniors. College Affordability Night is Thursday, September 18th at 6:30pm in the PAC. Information about the different types of financial aid and how to apply for them will be shared. Students planning to go to college after high school should plan to attend.
• Craft Club: Formerly known as Knitting Club will be meeting on Wednesday, September 17th in room 224 immediately after school. Students who are interested in knitting, crocheting, and any arts and crafts this club is for you. See Mrs. Meredith with questions.
• STRIVE: Attention STRIVE members. Our first STRIVE meeting is Thursday, September 18th starting promptly at 7:50 AM in the PAC Lobby. See Mrs. Kirsch if you have any questions. See you there!
• College Representative Meetings: Malone University and Hiram College are visiting EHS the week of September 15th. If you are interested in learning more about these colleges, sign up in your grade level Google Classroom or see Mrs. Anderle.
• Start With Hello Spirit Week: We will have our first spirit week of the year starting Monday, September 15th to celebrate Sandy Hook’s Start with Hello Week. We will start with Meet and Greet Monday – introduce yourself to five new people.
• Prom Committee: Attention Seniors. There is still time to join the Prom Committee. We will be meeting after school in room 239 on Tuesday, September 16th to vote on a theme.
• Home Tickets: Homecoming is October 4th from 6-9 in the EHS Dining Hall. Homecoming tickets will be on sale from September 15th-October 1st. Ticket prices are one for $15 or two for $25. You can purchase them with cash during your lunch periods or before/after school in room 201. If you are paying with a card, you can scan the QR code in the cafeteria, access the tickets through the athletics website, or find the link on your class of Google Classrooms. Out of district guests must have a guest form approved before their ticket can be purchased. Guest forms can be found in your team office. Out of districts guests will not be permitted in without a valid ID. Tickets will not be sold after Oct. 1st. • Junior Class Officer Elections: Any Junior interested in running for Junior Class Officer Position, see Mrs. Burkey in room 207 and pick up an application. We need a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Applications are due Thursday, September 18th by 3pm.

FIRELANDS:
• Attention 9th Graders: Last year’s yearbooks can be picked up in the Main Office. If you ordered one last year, please pick them up today during your lunch.
• Picture Day: Picture Day is tomorrow in the Auxillary gym. Classes will be called down starting at 7:45am with the 9th grade and move up from there. If you are late on arrival, please be here anytime between 7:45 to 9am to have your photo taken. If you did not receive a photo packet, please pick one up in the Main Office.
• Block Schedule: This week we will begin following our modified block schedule. The full bell schedule can be found on Keener’s weekly flyer.
• Falcon Pride Raffle: We will have our second Falcon PRIDE Raffle Friday (9/19)! Don't forget
to enter the raffle by going to the PBIS Rewards app using Clever and
use your points to enter. Just click on the raffle tab on the app and
enter to win. You will have until 12:30 on Friday to enter to win! There
will be one winner drawn from each grade level! If you have any

• Firelands Choral Color Run: The 3rd Annual Firelands Choral Color Run will be held, September 28th at 3pm at FES. It is $30 to participate, which includes a commemorative t-shirt. Registration has begun online @ FirelandsChoralColorTun.Com. Sign up now to show your support for our FHS Choir.
• Cleveland Institute of Art: A representative from the Cleveland Institute of Art will be here Tuesday at 1pm in XLA 101. If you are interested in meeting with the representative, please sign up in School Links or let Mrs. Rector in student services know.
• Important Dates: Picture Day is September 16th, October 3rd is Homecoming Football and & Friends of Firelands Tailgate, October 4th is the Homecoming Dance.
• Good Luck Mighty Falcons: Good luck tonight the Varsity Falcon Football team as they take on Brookside here at home. Game starts at 7. As always, students get in for free. Come earn those Spirit Points.
KEYSTONE
• Athletic Passes/Tickets: Adult Athletic Passes can be purchased in the athletic department for $125. These passes are good for all home events. Please contact Jeff Holzhauer (Jeffery.holzhauer@keystoneschools.org) with any questions. Football tickets prices for all varsity games in the Lorain County 8 have increased to $10 per ticket this season. Tickets remain at $8 for high school events and $5 for middle school events for all other sports.
• Freshman Girls: If you are interested in being a part of the Class of 2029 Chapter of Girltalk please submit your application by Wednesday, October 1st. Those chosen will be notified via email of their acceptance shortly after. We look forward to another great year of girls supporting girls!
• ROX: The Rox Leadership Team is selling Spirit Packs for our upcoming “Pink Out” game in October for $20. All those interested in ordering should fill out the google form and turn in the $20 to Miss Atkinson by September 26th.
• Softball: All female athletes interested in playing Softball this spring, there will be an afterschool meeting in Miss Saxton’s room, Room 215 on Wednesday, September 17th. Please see Miss Saxton if you have any questions or conflicts with this date.
• Sophmores: Interested in applying to be KHS’s representatives for the summer Hugh O’Brien Youth Conference? There will be an information session during Connections on Wednesday, Oct. 1st in the cafeteria. If you are interested in learning more, reach out to your counselor or fill out the Connections Workshop Google form.
• Seniors: the MANDATORY Senior Class Panoramic Photo will take place Friday, October 3rd. All seniors will report at 7:30 for the photo and wear either their class shirts or a purple Keystone shirt. Keep an eye out for the Senior Pano Photo order forms.
• FCCLA: There is a FCCLA meeting tomorrow after school in Ms. Heff’s room.
• Attention Seniors: Jostens will be here on Thursday in the Athletic Lobby to take orders for Cap & Gown and Class Rings! If you are not ordering online and need a packet – stop by the office to pick one up!
WELLINGTON
• Homecoming: Homecoming week is 9/14 – 9/20 please check out the link on our website for all of the different events happening!
• Communication Test: Attention Parents and Guardians. We will be performing a Communication Test to all parents/guardians on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 at approximately 4pm. This test will be sent via phone call, text and email. If you do not receive any of these communications, please contact your child’s building secretary to update their emergency contact information.
