ASSOCIATE SCHOOL NEWS:

AVON:
Schedules: Schedule changes will only occur for the following reasons: Summer school or CCP credit, Academic misplacement (determined by the classroom teacher once the school year has commenced), technical error (a course is misplaced or duplicated), change in the master schedule. Contact your school counselor to request assistance if one of the above-mentioned concerns has occurred. Advanced Placement courses will not be dropped.
Junior and Senior Release Information: Juniors and Seniors who selected JR/SR Release are eligible to leave campus during the designated period. Release will begin as soon as the first day of school. Release periods occur first, fourth, sixth, and seventh periods. Follow the link to the terms of JR/SR release. Unless a parent or a student notifies Mr. Hokavar, a request for a schedule change, and release will be granted.
CLEARVIEW:
Parking: All students who drive to school MUST purchase a parking pass in the main office. This includes those students who attend partial days at LCCC and those who drive to the High School and take the bus to the JVS.
Senior Parking Spots: Seniors…if you purchased a parking spot and would like the opportunity to “paint your spot”, all submissions MUST be turned into Mrs. Rothacker no later than Thursday, August 28th. Painting will be on September 6th and 7th. Stop in the Main Office for an application.
Picture Day: School pictures will be taken during all English classes on Thursday, September 11th. All students are required to have their photo taken for a school ID card.
Fee Waiver Form: In order to determine if you qualify for your school fees to be waived, you must return the fee waiver form that was passed out during homeroom on your first day. This form is due back by Friday, September 26th.
Drama Meeting: There will be a meeting in room 108 with Mr. Ward on Tuesday, August 26th at 2:50 pm for students interested in doing drama this year.
Yearbooks: If you ordered a yearbook and did not have it delivered directly to your home, they are available for pick up from Mr. Ward in room 108.
Soccer: Last night was a rough one for the Clearview soccer team as they travelled to Garfield Heights to play the undefeated Trinity Trojans. Despite 19 saves from Mikkel, the Clippers suffered their first loss of the season 4-0. Their next opportunity is a HOME game tomorrow evening at 6pm vs. Wellington. We hope to see some of you there cheering on the team.
COLUMBIA:
Student requesting Non Full Day Attendance: Students eligible must meet requirements: CCP courses, late arrival, early release, open campus lunch. All students must attend classes for full day on Wednesday, August 27th, forms must be completed, signed and approved prior to taking advantage of this privilege. See Mrs. Crow for forms, requirements and questions, forms are also available on the website.
Attention Raiders: Final Forms is open! Final Forms must be complete to pick up chromebook and class schedule. Fall Athletes, Marching Band and Color Guard Participants are unable to practice if Final Forms are not completed.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks are ready for Pick-up. Monday through Friday from 8am-2pm in the Main Office (former guidance office).
Community Service: All students need to have 20 hours of community service, verification forms turned into the Guidance Office. Summer community service is accepted.
ELYRIA
Required Vaccines: Attention Seniors! Mandatory Vaccine is due! All Seniors are supposed to get the Meningococcal booster. If you do not have documentation having the vaccine or a current objection letter on file you will be excluded unexcused starting Sept. 8th. See the Nurse if you have any questions.
Gamers Guild DND Club: Our first meeting, Session 0, will be held in the PA Lobby from 3-4pm on Wednesday, August 27th. All are welcome! See you then!
EPAC Team: The first feneral meeting of the EPAC Team will be Thursday, August 28th at 4pm (following marching band practice) in the EPAC. Looking forward to a great year! See you then.
Want to Play Football! Anyone in grades 9-11 who is interested in playing football this season, there is still time. We will accept new players up thru this Friday, August 29th. There is transportation from the high school to the stadium every day after school. You must be academically eligible and then all you need is a physical. If you have any interest, see Coach Wilson in room 208W.
Students Spreading Awareness for Animals First Meeting: Do you love animals? Come see what Students Spreading Awareness for Animals is all about! Our informational meeting is after school THIS Thursday in room 105. See Mrs. Lastafka in room 105 if you can’t make it.
Senior Information Night: Senior Information Night will be on Thursday, August 28th at 6:30pm in the PAC. Seniors and their parents and guardians are encouraged to attend to learn about post-secondary planning and senior year information.
Freshman Class Elections: Hey Class of 2029, anyone who would like to run for a class office, see Mrs. Hejny in room 116 for a packet. All forms must be turned in by Thursday, September 11th. Elections will take place the week of September 15th.
AV Club Meeting: Hey Pioneers! Welcome back! Would you like to be part of the AV Club crew? We film the Morning Announcements that you see each day. We will be starting Tuesday, Aug. 26th in the Studio, Room 223, right after school. We have multiple rolls to fill like on air talent, stage management, or behind the scenes in the Technical Booth. All are invited! If you have any questions, stop by Room 119 to speak with Mrs. Gardner.
Anime Club Meet and Greet: Join us Wednesday, 8/27 & 9/3 in room 101 for our Anime Club Meet & Greet! Meet your officers and advisors, learn the club ropes, and get hyped for an amazing year of anime fun!
Interested in Joining the Robotics Team: Any student interested in joining the robotics team – Please see Mr. West or Ms. Stape in the Hub for more information about our informational meeting on Tuesday, September 2 at 6pm in the PAC.
Creative Writing Club: Hey EHS! Love writing or just want to be creative? Creative Writing Club now meets Tuesdays after school, 3-4 PM in room 101. We’re also looking for student leaders – step up and help keep the stories going!
FIRELANDS:
First Day of School: The first day of school for 9th graders is September 2nd. The first day of school for students in grades 10-12 is September 3rd.
Open House: Looking forward to seeing everyone at Open House on August 26th.
KEYSTONE
- Open House: To help ease the transition and prepare for a strong start, we invite all families to attend our Open House on Monday, August 25th, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. During this time, families can meet teachers, tour the building, and get important information about the upcoming school year. In addition, we will host a Freshman Orientation from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. on the same evening, specifically designed to help our incoming ninth graders feel confident and prepared for their first day.
- : We encourage ALL 9th, 10th and 11th graders to take advantage of the PSAT Test we offer here at KHS. Students will take the PSAT Test the morning of Friday, October 24th. However, the deadline to sign up is approaching quickly! This FORM needs to be completed by 2:30 PM on Friday, August 29th.
- : Since most of our students do not utilize lockers, we are only assigning lockers to those students who wish to use one. Therefore, if your child would like a locker, please complete the LOCKER FORM.
WELLINGTON
- Open House: Tuesday, August 26 please join us from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for our open house. Bring your school supplies, questions and excitement as you meet your teachers and visit your classrooms. Parents/guardians will receive important paperwork to complete.
- First Day of School: Thursday, August 28 is the first day of school. We can't wait to see your smiling faces. Go Dukes!
