ASSOCIATE SCHOOL NEWS:

AVON:
- Schedules: Schedule changes will only occur for the following reasons: Summer school or CCP credit, Academic misplacement (determined by the classroom teacher once the school year has commenced), technical error (a course is misplaced or duplicated), change in the master schedule. Contact your school counselor to request assistance if one of the above-mentioned concerns has occurred. Advanced Placement courses will not be dropped.
- Junior and Senior Release Information: Juniors and Seniors who selected JR/SR Release are eligible to leave campus during the designated period. Release will begin as soon as the first day of school. Release periods occur first, fourth, sixth, and seventh periods. Follow the link to the terms of JR/SR release. Unless a parent or a student notifies Mr. Hokavar, a request for a schedule change, and release will be granted.
- Freshmen Class Officers: Want to help plan activities, projects, and fundraisers for your class? Run for a Class Officer position! Open roles include: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. How to apply: Get the digital application from the Class of 2029 Google Classroom page. Print it and fill it out completely. Turn it into Mrs. Bryant in Room 232 by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 2nd. Any questions? Email Mrs. Bryant at bryanta@avoneagles.org
- Unified Sports: Juniors and Seniors, if you are interested in participating in Unified Sports, please complete the interest form that is located on the Class of 2026 and Class of 2027 Google Classrooms. We play football, basketball and kickball. If you have any questions, talk to Coach Reinhard or Coach Brannigan.
- Be Kind To Our Neighbors: For students who use Hunter’s Trail to arrive and depart from school, please make sure you observe the speed limit. Do not block driveways and be aware that there is a noise ordinance.
CLEARVIEW:
- Schedule Changes: Attention all students. The last day to make a schedule change will be TODAY! Please reach out to your school counselor with any questions.
- Fall Play Auditions: Auditions for the fall play, The Giver, will be next Wednesday, September 3rd and Thursday, September 4th at 3pm in the auditorium. If you cannot make that time but would like to audition, see Mr. Ward.
- Picture Day: School pictures will be taken during all English classes on Thursday, September 11th. All students are required to have their photo taken for a school ID card.
- Student Council: Attention all students! Our first Student Council meeting will be on Thursday, September 4th in room 116 with Mr. Gulish. The meeting will last about an hour. We will discuss Officer Elections and Homecoming Court. All are welcome.
COLUMBIA:
- Student requesting Non Full Day Attendance: Students eligible must meet requirements: CCP courses, late arrival, early release, open campus lunch. All students must attend classes for full day on Wednesday, August 27th, forms must be completed, signed and approved prior to taking advantage of this privilege. See Mrs. Crow for forms, requirements and questions, forms are also available on the website.
- Attention Raiders: Final Forms is open! Final Forms must be complete to pick up Chromebook and class schedule. Fall Athletes, Marching Band and Color Guard Participants are unable to practice if Final Forms are not completed.
- Yearbooks: Yearbooks are ready for Pick-up. Monday through Friday from 8am-2pm in the Main Office (former guidance office).
- Community Service: All students need to have 20 hours of community service; verification forms turned into the Guidance Office. Summer community service is accepted.
- Leaders Club: Leaders club will meet Wednesday, September 3rd after school in Miss Scali’s room 3.
ELYRIA
- Required Vaccines: Attention Seniors! Mandatory Vaccine is due! All Seniors are supposed to get the Meningococcal booster. If you do not have documentation having the vaccine or a current objection letter on file you will be excluded unexcused starting Sept. 8th. See the Nurse if you have any questions.
- Freshman Class Elections: Hey Class of 2029, anyone who would like to run for a class office, see Mrs. Hejny in room 116 for a packet. All forms must be turned in by Thursday, September 11th. Elections will take place on the week of September 15th.
- Interested in Joining the Robotics Team: Any student interested in joining the robotics team – Please see Mr. West or Ms. Stape in the Hub for more information about our informational meeting on Tuesday, September 2 at 6pm in the PAC.
- AV Club Meeting: Hey Pioneers, Welcome Back! Would you like to be part of the AV Club crew? We fil the morning announcements that you see each day. We will be starting right after school on Tuesday, Aug. 26th in Studio Room 223. We have multiple roles to fill like on-air talent, stage management, or behind the scenes in the Technical Booth. All are invited. If you have any questions, stop by Room 119 to speak with Mrs. Gardner.
- Anime Club Meet and Greet: Join us Wednesday, September 3rd in room 101 for our Anime Club Meet and Greet! Meet your officers and advisors, learn the club ropes, and get hyped for an amazing year of anime fun!
- Creative Writing Club: Hey EHS! Love writing or just want to be creative? Creative Writing Club now meets Tuesdays after school, 3-4 PM in room 101. We’re also looking for student leaders – step up and help keep the stories going!
- Marvel Club: Marvel Club will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd in room 302W right after school until 4pm. If you enjoy superheroes and Marvel Movies, this is the place for you! Hope to see you there!
- College Representative Meetings: There will be representatives from a variety of colleges visiting EHS throughout September.
- Black Student Union Welcome Back: Black Student Union (BSU) will have our 1st meeting on Tuesday, September 2nd in Room 126 from 2:45-3:15pm. We are a service-learning club. Everyone is welcome. Mr. Hill and Mrs. Runion are the advisors.
- Student Council: Are you interested in helping plan Homecoming and other schoolwide events such as pep rallies, spirit weeks, and more? Join Student Council! Meetings are Wednesdays before OR after school in Room 201. Morning meetings start at 7:15. See you there!
- Academic Challenge: Do you like trivia? Are you good at answering questions about math, science, history, literature, and geography? Then we would love to have on the EHS Academic Challenge team! Our 1st meeting will be Wednesday, September 3rd in room 126. Mrs. Runion and Ms. K Johnson are the advisors this year.
- Kpop Club: Do you listen to Kpop or are you interested in learning more about it? Kpop Club meetings are on Thursdays after school in Room 206. Come hang out and make some new friends!
- Application Workshop: Attention Seniors. There will be an application workshop during Extended Homeroom on Wednesday, September 3 in room 122. Check in with your homeroom teacher first then stop by for help completing your college and job applications! See Mrs. Anderle with questions.
- Unified Sports: Want to join Unified Sports? It is an inclusive program by Special Olympics that combines athletes with and without disabilities on the same team for sports training and competition. The goal is to promote social inclusion, friendship, and understanding by bringing people together. Stop down in room 141/139 to sign up.
- Science Club Meeting: Interested in science outside of class? All students are welcome to join Science Club. Please attend our informational meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd after school in room 237. Please see Mrs. Bechtel if you have any questions.
FIRELANDS:
- First Day of School: The first day of school for 9th graders is September 2nd. The first day of school for students in grades 10-12 is September 3rd.
- Open House: Looking forward to seeing everyone at Open House on August 26th.
KEYSTONE
- PSAT: We encourage ALL 9th, 10th and 11th graders to take advantage of the PSAT Test we offer here at KHS. Students will take the PSAT Test the morning of Friday, October 24th. However, the deadline to sign up is approaching quickly! This FORM needs to be completed by 2:30 PM on Friday, August 29th.
- Lockers: Since most of our students do not utilize lockers, we are only assigning lockers to those students who wish to use one. Therefore, if your child would like a locker, please complete the LOCKER FORM.
- Athletic Passes/Tickets: Adult Athletic Passes can be purchased in the athletic department for $125. These passes are good for all home events. Please contact Jeff Holzhauer (Jeffery.holzhauer@keystoneschools.org) with any questions. Football tickets prices for all varsity games in the Lorain County 8 have increased to $10 per ticket this season. Tickets remain at $8 for high school events and $5 for middle school events for all other sports.
WELLINGTON
- Open House: Tuesday, August 26 please join us from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for our open house. Bring your school supplies, questions and excitement as you meet your teachers and visit your classrooms. Parents/guardians will receive important paperwork to complete.
- First Day of School: Thursday, August 28 is the first day of school. We can't wait to see your smiling faces. Go Dukes!
